Blog Post Assignment 9 (late)

During my AP English course I enjoyed the classroom discussions the most. I disliked writing notes because most of the notes were common knowledge. I learned helpful strategies when writing essays such as brainstorming. The course prepared me well for the AP test. If I could take the course again I would because it was a helpful class.

Blog post assignment 8 (late)

On the 19th of April, all juniors took the ACT. That was my first time taking the ACT. When I took  the mock ACT , the only thing I passed was the English and Science. I believe the only reason why I passed that part of the exam is because I am currently taking English. When I took it again, I knew what to expect: English first, Math, Reading, Science, and then Writing. Just like the first time, I was not prepared. The only thing that was different was that I took it at school and I was mentally prepared.
I was not prepared at all for the ACT. The only thing that was done for preparation for the ACT for me was that in one of my classes, my English class, we went over a few things the day before. In intervention we had an ACT book to work in but it's different from studying by yourself and studying as a whole. I only have two course class and we have been preparing for the AP exam we take in May, not the ACT test. Last semester I took a science class, human anatomy, but we didn't work on charts and graphs so I did not really know how to do the science part of the ACT. Reading was all about time. I had no problem with the questions, but there was no time to read every story and answer every question.

Salvation Army

Once every year I volunteer at the Salvation Army with the Mobile Kappa League. It's not about getting the hours it's all about giving back to the community and helping the homeless. Helping the homeless means a lot to me because when they are out in the bad weather and have no where to go they go to the Salvation Army and get a good meal.

Letter to the Governor

Governor Bentley,

My name Everett Curtis. I attend Bayonne Baptist. Many people refer to my as an mother of the church because,my husband is the preacher. I got three children that all grew up with Jefferson. My first child, Benny, he and Jefferson played ball with  each other, second child, Edgar, he and Jefferson grew up together. Last but not least my sweet Sidney dated Jefferson.

Miss Emma would bring Jefferson every Sunday to bible study. He was a shy boy. But some how Benny and Jefferson bonded well together. When I was teaching bible study somehow I seem to misplace my glasses. The children was in recess and i guess Jefferson heard me in there raising sand about it. He ask my what i was searching for. I told him simply that i lost my glasses. For hours me and Jefferson searched until we found it.

Jefferson is really a sweet boy. Over the years he did numerous things for me and the comminty. I dont think you should excute him but, give him life in jail.

My escape place would be in my room because thats where I can go and have some alone and think about what I have done. In my room I would play my video games to get some stress off my mind.

Introduction

I am a citizen of Mobile, Alabama where I attended Burroughs Elementary School and went to Hankins Middle School. At the age of three I was diagnosed with clear cell sarcoma cancer on the right kidney. I like to listen to all types of music like Hip-Hop, Gospel, and Pop music. I also like to play in the marching band where I play all percussion instruments. What I will like to gain from Mr. Rease Ap English class is all the knowledge that I can gain to succeed in life.
